As soon as I drop my pack, this is where my dog will plant herself every time, right next to it. I can wander off anywhere and for as long as I want. So long as I'm within earshot she won't budge. The moment I pick up that pack, she will come to life and follow my side to the next cam check. Maybe there is an instinctive primal reason for this.

I was once told that if you lose your dog in the bush. You should place an article of your clothing on the ground at the last place that you saw her. Your dog will often return to look for you in the last place that she saw you. If she finds some of your scented clothing in that spot. She will often lay down next to it and wait for your return.

Cute. Your dog probably finds your working on the camera and set rather boring, unlike the trip to and from the camera where there are all kinds of interesting smells and sights.

Ya, she was quite excited being around you come to think of it.
This is when I used to work her hard but not anymore, she has earned her keep. I would much rather post pics of my dog than I would of myself anyways :)

Oh the first two pics are mid way up the Island at about 1200 meters, sub-alpine landscape. The last pic was taken in Washington state as we were climbing up the flanks of Mt. Baker, which is a volcano. That is Coleman glacier in the background.
