I'm curious, did the Hawk try to take off with the bait or did the flash spook him off?

Surprisingly, it didn't seem bothered by the flash, I had staked the Rabbit to the log, the first six pictures, the Buzzard had its back to the camera, but then managed to move the rabbit so the flash fired continually until the batteries went flat and the memory card was full.

I have re-set everything this lunchtime, so hopefully it will be back again this afternoon.

Darren

Hmm, actually, I'm not surprised about the flash not bothering it. I believe that if a flash spooks off an animal. It has more to do with that one particular animal than that of any particular species. Predator or prey, makes no difference, at least from my own experiences.

Good luck with a return visit,

Wow, you've got a nice image there and the 7D sure does a nice job with detail.

I've never had any luck with a raptor perch. Pics like this make me want to get out and try again.
