Living in an area with both ticks and timber rattlesnakes, I'll take the snakes any day. Our rattlesnakes are usually pretty calm -- In 50 years of working and playing almost daily in snake country, only one has ever struck at me. I've stepped over two that I didn't see until after I was over them (and land knows how many I never saw) without any problems. Ticks are another matter.

Ticks must be bad in all parts of the world where they exist. People putting up with snakes over ticks. Wow... we don't have to many snake issues or problems in my parts. But ticks... everywhere at this time of year. Interesting to hear similar in other parts. Snakes not a favorite of mine and the ones we have where I am are even harmless. Lol!
