Raccoons- Hate the way they always show up and run off a few hundred shots. Love the way they show up and run off a few hundred shots when nothing else will. :-).

Raccoons under a hackberry tree on a warm South Texas night.

Also got some coyote shots, but the focus was off- I accidentally left the camera in P mode after I locked the focus and when a coyote later appeared, the camera selected a narrow DOF rather than the f8 I usually shoot at. So, the leafy green at the foot of the tree is in focus but the darn coyote is not! Oh well...

The lighting and composition for the coyote are great.

Very nice shots. I really liked your camera angle.

Those are sweet photos -- even if you goofed up the coyote photo still looks great. The raccoons are superb, both intent on something next to the camera. Interesting how a scene changes in light and dark. Do you ever get hog-nosed skunks down there? I don;t that one's on your life list yet.

Thanks!

I am not aware of any hog nose skunks here. Plenty of striped skunks though.

Relocated to a different portion of this dry creek bed. Keep hoping for a bobcat or coyote. Plinked another darn mapache! :-)
