 Post subject: Low angle deer portrait

This was taken with the same set as the fox photo I shared a couple of weeks ago. I really love getting eye to eye with the animal. I've been setting the camera to aperture priority so the shutter remains open and does one long exposure after each trigger at night. Idea was to capture a starry sky. Closest I have come is the sky glow shown here. Thinking about going manual so I can get burst of flash exposures at night. I'd have to give up well exposed bursts during the day and live with dark sky at night. Worth it?

Set consists of a Canon T1i with Sigma 10-20mm f/3.5 and two SB-28's, all triggered by a Trailmaster TM1550.

Definitely shoot in manual to get the effect you want.

That’s a sweet pic! I’m going to be trying the same thing with long exposures. It’s been on my mind for a long time just haven’t had the guts yet what are you setting your flashes at for this?

Camera is set at 400 and flash settings are shown in pictures below. I ratio the flashes by setting fill flash calculator to 800. Distance are as shown on flash calculator.ImageImage
