Hey all,

Recently build a new housing out of a pelican type case (same size as 1300 but Condition 1 brand) that can fit my d3300 & 18-55mm kit lens with no snorkel which is nice. I set it up for 5 nights aiming for foxes and of course my remote trigger batteries died after the first night, so I got a bunch of black frames :oops. Bushnell cam confirmed there was a lot of fox activity, looks like at least 3 coming through this path so hopefully I'll get some action when I check next week. Also had some raccoons, opossum, stray cats and a turkey.

I did get these two shots from my first night -- the rabbit is with both flashes (secondary at 1/16), the fox with only my main flash at 1/4 -0.7 so had to bring up the exposure in post. Camera techs were 1/100 f/8 ISO 400 at 18mm.

Excited to see what I get!

Thanks! I think two have denned close by so hoping I can get some fox kits this summer.

I'm using Camtraptions wireless triggers -- I forget which batteries I put in them initially but I'm gonna switch to rechargeable so I can just replace the batteries whenever I check the set up.

Great shots! What do you think is in the fox's mouth?

Thanks! I don't think the fox actually has anything in the mouth -- I think its just a bit of skunk cabbage right below the snout that gives that effect.

Had mostly rain this week, so not a lot of animal activity, but another fox and rabbit shot I'm happy with. The fox was taken 3 nights after the rabbit -- amazing how much the plants grew with all the rain! My camera only fired once with the fox so no full body shot, but neat to see the blood on the snout.

Best,

Cool! Yeah, looks like Mr. Fox just caught a meal. Interesting how quick those cabbages sprung up.
