For me, it depends on the lens. I have a few lenses that will only function as manual focus. I have found it easiest to set up the box with the camera inside to get the basic composition. I then take the camera out of the box and hold it as precisely as possible directly above where it would sit in the box. I then manually focus, tape the lens so the focus won't budge and secure it back in the box. I haven't failed with this technique (yet).

I’ve been doing a little on my enclosure (this may take a while :old )

I found a schedule 40 4” to 3” reducer to be just what was needed


After some careful measuring cutting and drilling

The chamfered end was a perfect fit for an 82mm uv filter

Takes a D7000 and Tokina 11-16 or Nikkor 16-85 perfectly
