On May 7th, I set up this cam near where I spotted cougar tracks on a fire line. Should have known better, but the woods on the lower side had already been burnt, so I assumed that they were done burning. Of course the very next day when I got home from work, I see on Facebook that the USFS had been doing controlled burns in that drainage. Darn! I finally got there today, hoping for the best. Thanks to the firefighters, my cam survived. They didn't notice my trap bait caller under the log, so I lost that and four eneloops. Kind of a fun sequence of pics.

Now that's a first and one worthy of telling your friends about.

That was a great sequence except the equipment like Gary stated.

Very interesting visually. Also aligns with my experience of firefighters being nice people.

Good sequence. Looks like the one firefighter did find your Trap Bait Caller, just too late -- at 45 seconds something's dangling from the handle he's holding; it's burning like a plastic case would burn.

Yeah, that's it. I had it set up with an external speaker and the rest of the caller contained in an old commercial trail cam case thus the wires. It's funny they didn't find it before because it must have been squeaking away when they were working around there. Oh well. I'm just glad I got the cam.

Great bit of photo journalism there and great to see you have some firefighters around your area with integrity.

Sorry about the caller, but you sure got something different that time.
