After purchasing the Stealth Cam 4k camera last year and realizing it fell far short of any expectations I had, I was hoping that the Browning Recon Force 4k camera would be significantly better than my favorite Browning camera, the Browning Recon Force Extreme. With these initial tests I still give the Extreme camera the edge. I believe more testing and transparency would benefit these companies when releasing a ground breaking product.

As always, these clips can be found at www.vimeo.com/offthepavement

This first clip shows the same footage, split screen, from the two cameras. The resolution defaulted to HD so the comparison is strictly video quality when it comes to color rendition, white balance, etc.

Combined HD/4k Footage:

Here is the raw footage from both cameras, the Extreme camera in HD, and the 4k camera in 4k resolution. The 4k footage is over-saturated and the color is way off. The Extreme footage is slightly overexposed but the color is accurate. I much prefer the footage from the Extreme camera. I hope these comparisons are helpful for those interested in purchasing commercial cameras.

Thanks a lot, David. Very helpful. I am quite happy with the Browning Extreme and will just stick with it for now. (I just wish they could solve the "ghost eyes" problem.)

I have several cams including the above mentioned Browning. I still say the BUSHNELL Trophy Cam HD Aggressor is hands down better than the rest.

Here's more footage from both cameras. The Browning Recon Force Extreme still wins out.

Agreed, the Extreme takes a better video. I'd pass on the 4K especially given the 4K's significantly higher price.
