I would prefer to post pics in my posts via a web based photo hosting site. That way I only have to upload once and can send pictures to my family and friends who don't frequent these forums and also have a site to back up the pics that are important to me. But for some reason, using the "Img" button and pasting the link isn't working for me in that readers have to click a link instead of seeing the pic in the thread. Am I doing something wrong? I could swear I have posted pics before using the "Img" button.

Any help would be appreciated.

Brian

Ken has you covered if you are using Photobucket. If not, what web hosting site are you using?

Try posting a picture here so we can see what is going wrong.

picasaweb

I see the little photo icon. The settings are on public so I don't believe the pic is locked. I have a Flickr account. I'll try that next.

flickr I'm just opening the picture on my flickr account, copying the link, and pasting it between "[img]"%20and%20"[/img]".

Try this for Flickr:

When you open your photo on Flickr, there is a little box with an arrow in it on the lower right. Click on this and it has "share" options.

One option is "Grab the HTML/BBC code."

In your post on the forum, click the Img button up top. Then paste the whole string of code from the "Grab the HTML/BBC code" right after the brackets that come up around the "Img." Delete all of the code except for the part in the middle that begins with "http" and ends with ".jpg" This part of the code, should be nested between the IMG tags.

That "address" is the link to the actual photo. All of the other information relates to Flickr applications only.

You can do this multiple times in a post if you want to put many photos in.

I just tested the picasaweb method and it works (see below), but I do not have a flickr account, so give it a try.

All right, I got posting from Picasweb figured out. Thanks for the help.

Anyone else find Picasa/Google+ irritating?
