Not exactly a camera hack but didn't know where else to post this.
This is a diagram I worked up showing the wiring for the Fuji JZ series cameras to the Safari Camera Controller with the Mosfet/Opto Backpacker and the Flash Backpacker. This wiring scheme would be used for Daytime HD video with an amped microphone and Nighttime still pics with a slave flash.
Note: The shutter and shutter common wire connections for the JZ cameras are different depending on the Safari board used. For the original Safari board the shutter and shutter common wires connect to the control board as usual. For the Safari SMT (surface mount version) the shutter and shutter common wire connections are reversed otherwise the camera will not shutter a picture. Weird I know but true and I have yet to figure this one out since other cameras tested with the SMT board are wired as usual.
