As of the date and time of this post, we're up to 139 members since we opened up shop in our new location on 1/31/10. If there is someone you know from the old forum or other forums, please invite them to join or re-join us over here. Hopefully, this announcement of our 2nd annual image contest will spark more interest as well, along with motivate those of you that do not have cameras out, to get them out! :gotcha

Since this is a forum absent of sponsors or advertisers, we are again relying on the generosity of our members for contest prizes. Please PM me if you are willing to contribute something. A complete prize list will follow:


Contest Rules (Rules subject to change):

  • Best Overall HB Pic (Must be taken with a Homemade Trail Camera)
  • Best Overall Video (Must be taken with a Homemade Video Unit) **New Category**
  • Image and/or video must be captured between 2/15/10 & 5/31/10
  • The deadline to submit entries will be Tuesday, June 1st at 10pm CST
  • Images and/or Videos will be voted on by members (1 vote (1st, 2nd & 3rd choice)per member)
  • Only members who joined before 3/1/10 will be eligible to vote
  • Each member may submit up to 3 images and/or videos and must number them 1, 2 & 3 in the post
  • Only one prize can be won per member
  • Cropping and Tuning for Color and Brightness will be allowed
  • Once an image and/or video is posted it is entered, no editing or swapping will be allowed
  • Image and/or video must contain a Wild Animal
  • Submit Date, Time and General location image and/or video was captured
  • Submit type of Camera/Board combo Used
  • Photos and/or videos should be judged based on quality, clarity, composition and creativity of the set
  • 14 Prizes available & distribution to be determined (possibly more depending on member donations/contributions)

I don't have many still cams left, but I have one mine on loan to a guy for a wolf/moose study. Am I able to submit photos from my build he is using? It's a W230 with an internal slave.

Thanks for all your effort Sean! I really appreciate it. This winter my focus is getting a few minutes of bobcat or lion video. But hey, I'll toss in a few pictures if I feel they are contest worthy.
