I have had this one complete for a while now. It is a DV/NS (daytime video night stills) build. It has Ralphs Safari Camera Controller with the opto backpacker, flash backpacker, 2 wire microphone. Ralph suggested to add a slave but I did not want nothing to powerful so opted for a baby slave. It took some convincing and Ralph will attest to that, but sure glad I went with a slave, all be it a smaller one. Thanks to Joe (zaj56) for sending me a baby slave to hack and try out in this build. I am impressed with the baby slave, so much so I ended up getting some more from Johnny (JDH) I decided to put the micrphone on the bottom in the hopes of sheltering it more from the elements such as rain. The microphone sure picks up the sound well. The build was more complicated with the many wires but the hack itself is pretty easy. Ralph has a tutorial for it and I have also hacked and SZ1 which is the same as the SZ02. I have a SZ7 also but have not opened it up yet but I think it is also the same as the SZ02 & SZ1 except it is a 1080p camera. I am actually quite impressed with the 720p of the panasonic SZ02 & SZ1 cameras but also want to try the 1080P of the SZ7. I have a new snorkel for this camera and it turned out great. This snorkel will work with the SZ02, SZ1 and the SZ7 for sure and may also work with the new hack Ralph has of the SZ5. I really like the way the RCdavis boards go or stack together. It saves on space significantly. Thanks to Johnny, Gary, Joe, Rick and Ralph for the answered questions, input, thoughts and suggestions along the way, it helped in so many ways. I have not yet got the build out into the field, I have been playing with it around the house and will get it out soon. I know one thing ......our Dog prefers the stand alone flash over the slave flash. :rofll

Very nicely done Daryl. You will like the DV/NS build a lot. Glad the baby slave is working good for you.

Sweet build...you didn't say but I guess that's a Pelican 1060...and the day video/night stills is a neat combination...hope to see images down the road...!
