I can't thank Johnny enough for helping on my first build! He answered all my questions and walked me right through everything... Thanks Johnny!!!!

Here it is.... A sony s600, with Bigfoot board, with a external flash hardwired in, with 10 foot of wire. I can't wait to get this thing out into the field. Right now I just have it in my back yard doing some testing with the house dogs.

Very nice! Looking forward to seeing some pics too. Wow, 10' of wire on the flash! I'm interested to see how that works.

If this isn't a testament to the quality of the S600's flash, then I don't know what is. You will have loads of fun with this set-up, great build.

Thanks guys, I'm going to put it out in the field this coming weekend. Then the hard part, waiting long enough so it gives me some pics to look at. I took some pics with it in the back yard, that I will post tonight. Seemed to work just fine, with plenty of flash coverage.

I like it so much, I'm ordering another kit, and Johnny is going to hack another s600 for me. Really looking forward to doing the second one, now that I have one under my belt.

Just adding a few pics taken with the new build. I wish now I would have stood closer to test flash, I was probably 25 feet away, and I did have the flash pointed downward a little too much.

Hey Bones, this won't help with Bears but for small animals that have a hankering for chewing on wires. You may want to consider using some 1/2" ID. SS braided sleeving as added protection and peace of mind.

You know, I was kind of wondering about that. I was thinking maybe squirrels and mice. Thanks, I'll come up with something.

The wire is shielded and should keep them from any serious chewing. I haven't had an issue yet. Critters also hate chewing on duct tape so you can always wrap it with some camo tape.
