Hey guys, I'm new here and have something Iv been wanting to work on. I have an ip camera that is normally 12v DC but I want to run it off of a battery to try as a trail cam. It is motion activated and records to internal sd so all I should need is a power source right?

A typical IP camera will draw about 600mA, a little more if it has infrared illumination at night. So, if you use this calculator https://www.digikey.com/en/resources/co ... ttery-life it will tell you approximately how long your camera will last on the battery you want to use. Also, keep in mind the battery capacity in the Amazon link is probably grossly over rated. Also remember the camera will probably quit when the voltage nears about 11vdc.
