I have not built a S600 for many years now. A buddy challenged me to build one that would last even longer in the field. I also do not or try not to build with the use of foam for my point an shoot cameras and have not for many years. Johnny got me going on this. In this build I added a cut down snorkel that I have made up here in Canada so I could also get away without the use of foam in this new S600 build. It allows the tiny S600 lens to zoom out of the case. I get the snokels made locally and dipped at the same time as the cases. I have three, AA, 3 volt holders wired in parallel. I counter sank the flash hole to accommodate a 1-1/2" glass making the opening 1-1/4" which is 1/4" bigger than the standard 1" holes. The case is an underwater kinetics 3000 case. The cheapest case we can buy here in Canada and happens to be one of my favs. These cams have 8GB cards in them and are used a baits to allow for 2600 plus pics.

That is brilliant buddy, the cutest little snorkel I ever seen. Another thing I like about that build which most all of my S600's don't have. Is a large flash glass opening, that is a very good idea. I really want to see you using these S600's even if it's only for the warm seasons. I can't wait to see some pictures from it of those beautiful bull Elk.

Well that was quick, and I agree with the others. Always nice to see homebrew builds on the forum.
