The camera on the rim caught some bears and here are the results -- https://forestandfield.blogspot.com/201 ... n-rim.html

Very cool Woody.

On a side note here. Have you noticed if the Bears in your area have white lips. Seriously, ours on the Island have white lips and I see that the ones in this video don't. I just thought that they all had white lips.

Woody, l watched it twice expecting to see those turkeys and porcupine. Didn't see them?
Gary, l have never seen a bear with white lips, they vary from pinkish grey to purple mostly.

Most of the bears here have dark lips, but a few do have light colored lips.

I didn't include those videos in this post because I just wanted to use the bear videos this time.

Bears sure can hog the show. The lone bear looks like it might be blind in the right eye, which doesn't seem to reflect the IR light. There are several bears in my neighborhood that have one eye that doesn't reflect light -- I am guessing a corneal opacity, or maybe an injured retina prevents reflection from the reflective layer at the back of the eyeball.

Yes, I noticed that; in fact the hair on the right side of the face seems odd as if there's scarring on that side. Perhaps that eye was damaged in a fight with another bear.

Camera trapping always makes us wonder about the things we see, and occasionally we're lucky and get the answer.

Not only that it also reminds some of us that we need glasses. I've since learned that some Bears have light coloured hair around the lips and not white lips like I originally thought.
