Most of my cameratrapping takes place along game trails. Many of which are in valleys and along the banks of fresh water sources. This set is along a well used and heavily overgrown game trail on the banks of a freshwater marsh. I took advantage of this natural clearing along the trail where I found an old scent marking tree. I set up my video camera, incorporated that tree into the frame and this is a sample of what I've captured.

Dragonfly! New first!

Interesting to watch that wolf. At first It's hard to tell if it has seen the camera. It looks in the right direction but doesn't fix its gaze on it. When closer it clearly looks at it.

Nice collection of clips. Gamboling bunnies add a nice touch

Good collection of critters. Looks like the wolf was really interested in the scent of the camera. Hopefully some larger predator will make a meal of that mini-mountain lion.

Thanks guys,
Never underestimate how busy some game trails along fresh water sources can be.

Here's a list of the animals and how many times they have passed by this set. The Bear and Quail are recent newcomers to this set and so would have been that bull Elk if he was 75 ft. to his left.

Wolf.....................19
Rabbit..................14
Deer.....................04
Squirrel................03
Cougar..................03
Raccoon................03
Birds.....................03
Mink......................01
Bear......................01
Elk........................well almost :)

Great variety, l love seeing all these different and interesting critters (eventhough I know what they all are). I would give that stinking Sylvester the hurry up :uzi if l seen it, l bet it was after those quail.

I couldn't agree more with Woody and Trevor. If you have a spare 15 minutes or so, then you may want to have a look at this.....................https://www.nature.com/articles/ncomms2380.pdf
