This was from the first night image set after a month at this location. Was not sure how that light was going to work in the tree. Turned out to be a little bright. Reduce the power by 50%.
The setup was a Sony A6000, 1/160 Shutter, set to Auto ISO with a range of 100-1600. A 28mm Nikkor F2.8 lens vintage 1973 set at f8. Four flash units, three behind the camera, one behind the tree, all triggered by Pixel Rook wireless receivers.
After seeing this image I did move the center flash nearer to the subject to add a little light. If you look closely you can see the reflection of all three flash units in her eyes. The sensor is a Gamewatcher by Ralph Davis with software I have developed this past year. The camera is set to single photo shutter and takes 8 photos .5 seconds apart when triggered.

Beautiful! The set is great with the trees behind the cat. Not sure if I like the flash behind the tree, but it sure does make for an artistic picture.

I agree about the flash behind the tree. Like I said I have reduced the power by 50%, and redirected it a little. Without that flash you would have little depth to the photo with the broken tree limb making somewhat of a curtain and just darkness behind it.

I like it Dan... it breaks away from the norm. Like you stated it should make it way way better by reducing the power. Can't wait to see how it makes the next photo that much better. Keep the ideas and results coming forward.

Yer I like it I can now start to see that this is much much more than simply getting images of target species.....
That lion has a very small odd shaped head.
