The quality of this footage, due mainly to dim lighting, made me file it away, but I finally got over it.

The story and video are HERE

Well, that is a very rare opportunity for sure and great video. That is on my bucket list of must haves but so far, nada.

Thanks Gary, with all the time you spend in cougar country (with your trusty companion), it is sure to happen one of these days. The next few videos, after the bears got the carcass will be of better quality. I was definitely climbing the learning curve when it happened.

Wow, what a find to stumble across! Especially a known local buck. Surprised to see she wasn't bothered by the white lights. Those bears get on a kill quick! Must be tough to go through the danger, time, and energy of a hunt only to have it taken away after a short period of feeding. Awesome video!

That was extremely enjoyable. I have learned similar lessons regarding the position of floodlights and cameras on kills. Regardless of your tribulations, that video was a success. Thanks for sharing.

Thanks fellas -- I started going through the bear clips yesterday. With 3 cameras on the set I easily have 4-6 hours of material, so I am in for some work to put together the next video(s), which will be rather graphic compared to the good table manners of the cat.

Very cool clip. I have run into several fresh kills, however last Jan was the first opportunity I have had to set a camera. Can't wait for the next chance.

Gary, I'm in shock you haven't stumbled onto a kill with the time you get out in your neck of the woods. Although I will admit that several months of snow makes it a lot easier to find. I would think you have walked in close proximity a buried carcass many times.
