My clearest pics of a Cougar from the rainforest to date. Fortunately for me, this fella strolled by on a bright and dry afternoon. Came by another cam but as you can see, way too close.
Sony S600: PROGRAM MODE, MULTI AF, AUTO everything, PIC. QUALITY - FINE, FLASH - low, SATURATION - low, CONTRAST - NORM., SHARPNESS - NORM.,

Thanks,
truth be told.............

You know, you pick a location, select the distance, height and angle on where to mount the cam and cross your fingers. This set I was positioning the cam for large predators as well as Elk. I aimed as high as I could go for Elk and still hoped to get full body shots of large predators down lower. Jim, I got soooo lucky to get his full legs, head and tail in the second pic.

Here's the 4:3 original of that cat before I trimmed the pic. I figured that if an Elk passed by from the other direction with its head slightly down as they often do. I may get a full frame pic. of it. Pulling the camera back a few feet to enlarge the field of view would be ideal. However, I didn't have anything to anchor the cam to do that, so I compromised. Next time I'm going to lower the cam a tad and the heck with the Elk pics.

Thanks for posting these! I never tire of seeing these coastal mountain lions. They are much bigger that what I'm use to seeing here.
