There's some really nice shots in there almost as if they were posing for the camera.

Another great haul. But what about the salmon? Last year you showed us an big ol' bear fishing salmon. I' m assuming that was farther upstream.

Thanks guys,

Jim, the Elk herd pic was a daytime pic with flash which really makes the colours pop. The side lighting of the late afternoon sun added a nice touch. This high sandbar is a very active section for wildlife travel. An active Elk trail emerges from the forest just to the left of the pic. The Elk seem to congregate here because it offers a high vantage point where the Elk can see in both directions for quite a ways. I'm going to leave a camera here all Winter just for kicks. I want to see just how much use this area gets during the rainy season.

Chris, I have not seen a spawning Salmon yet, this year. The rains have held off for the most part. The area where I get all of my Bears with Salmon is way back down in the area where I live. Same situation there, no Salmon spawning there as of yet either. All the Salmon are held up in the river's mouth waiting for the rains. They are being heavily predated on by Orcas, Harbour Seals and both California and Stellar Sea lions. The Bears in my first 2 pics at the Beaver dam are there waiting for the Salmon as well. They will catch them as they try to go over the dam as the water rushes over the top.
