I had this idea a while back and tonight I finally tested it out. Albeit with very limited resources and a bit of ingenuity. I got a business card and wrapped it in tin foil. Then angled it at 45 deg. directly in front of the flash. I then taped a wireless slave flash above it. Exactly 31" from the bottom of the bottle to the flash on the cam. I'm sure that it could go much higher too. Making sure that the bottle was angled outward and then directly downward towards the angled reflector. It worked flawlessly every time. Now if this works with a piece of tin foil wrapped on a business card. You can only imagine how it would work with a shiny mirror. Keep in mind that the reflector should be angled at 45 deg. so the flash is directed upwards. In all likelihood, you can probably do away with the pigtail altogether. Maybe mount the small bottle protruding out the bottom of the case if that would suit your needs.

I'm going to fabricate several of these reflectors with proper mirrors so I can quickly attach and detach them to my cams of my choosing.

Pretty cool huh?

I thought of doing that before but had never tried it. Good to know it works good. A guy could probably use a piece of lexan with foil tape on it.
