 Post subject: sony w200 settings

are the settings for the w200 the same as the w220? if not does anyone have the settings for the w200?---thaks

I have mine set to Program mode, Auto everything else, Flash + and with one exception. I set my ISO to 200 instead of Auto. Some prefer to set it to ISO 400 as well. The reason being is that the flash isn't the brightest. Increasing the ISO level will brighten your night-time pics but you will lose image detail in exchange for graininess in your pics. The other settings such as Contrast, Colour etc. is more of a personal preference but start with them in the middle at first. The best bet is to have a starting point and test the cam under all conditions and then make the adjustments.

yes i'm looking for the optimum camera settings people use for this camera, it's not listed anywhere that i can find, the w220 is listed, that's why i asked if others just use the 220 settings. thanks

Try these.


1. Set camera on “ P ” or “PROGRAM” setting.
2. Turn camera on. Enter camera settings through menu button.
3. Color Mode “Normal”
4. Focus “00 INFINITY” (scroll to the very top)
5. Metering mode “Multi”
6. White Balance “Auto”
7. ISO OR “400”
8. Picture Quality “Fine”
9. REC Mode “Normal”
10. Flash Level “HIGH” (+)
11. Contrast “HIGH” (+)
12. Sharpness “HIGH” (+)
13. AF Mode “Single”
14. Digital Zoom “OFF”
15. Function Guide “OFF”
16. Red Eye Reduction “OFF”
17. AF Illuminator “OFF”
18. Auto Review “OFF”
19. LCD Backlight “normal”
20. Beep “OFF”
21. Language “English”
22. Initialize “OK”
23. Push the “lightning bolt symbol” until all flash symbols go off the
screen. This lighting bolt symbol is on arrow direction dial.
24. Turn LCD display “OFF” …. Button above menu button, push it
three times or until LCD display shuts off.
25. Then turn camera “OFF” before connecting camera to board.
