I was asked to put this together for a guy who graciously supplied me with some peanuts to use. This is a brief overview using a Wein Digital Peanut, not to be confused with the regular peanut, connected to a vivitar 2800 slave flash. I used a Yeti board for this because it is what I know and use. You can see the actual circuit and board settings on the Yeticam Site. http://www.yeticam.com/Manuals/slave.pdf

Edit: Information on the peanut. You need the digital peanut which is PND, not the PN. The Mfr. Part: W940003D

I use Relay 1 because it saves some power vs being on all the time at night with relay 2.

Dip switches 4, 8 & 9 must all be on. You can adjust the day/night sensitivity using the blue pot labeled light. Instructions for this are also on the Yeticam site in the board instructions. http://www.yeticam.com/Manuals.htm

Thanks for the info Tony... Being kind of a slave flash newbie, I have a few questions...

The peanut is the "eye" correct? Does this work with all 2-flash cameras? It looks kind of big... on a "slave and camera in the same case" build, can you just mount the peanut above the flash looking down at it, or does it need to be looking directly at the flash?

Does it refresh the slave at night at a certain interval? How/when is the slave powered up and ready to fire?

The slave power source in this case is separate from the board power source?

I don't know if it will work for all 2 flash, or digital cameras, but I've played with them using a bunch of different cameras with success.

It can be pointed down toward the flash. It does not have to be directly in front of it.

The peanut is only the trigger. The board controls the charging, and turning on, of the flash.

That is correct. The slave power source is 4AA's for the typical slave flash and the board has its 9V source.
