Does the peanut need to be mounted outside so it can "see" the camera flash?? how does it sense it?? I have built numerous simple set ups. Not explored the world of slave flashes yet. But I am learning. Thanks Tony, Buckshot, Johnny, you guys are getting me there.

The peanut can face out the front of the case or be left inside the case as long as it can see the flash your good.

T, is it necessary to put the 0.47 resistor on the 2800A board or is the resistor in the Mosfet sufficent? Tim

The resistor that goes on the board is to disable the auto off feature so you would want to use that.

The one on the board is a 470K resistor. The .47 goes in the power line and is already in the mosfet.

What board settings are you using. You can`t trigger this thing until the capacitor charges. This is around 45 seconds so you can`t set your board to tral mode or a picture every 15 seconds.

I run it in trail mode and I seldom get black photos. If your cap is taking 45 seconds to charge enough to trigger, something is wrong. I run mine with dips 4,6,8,9 ON and all others OFF. I did have every other photo black when the board went crazy with a low 9V a week ago though. The unit I am referring to do not have the flash cut out, so it requires the slave at night.

Very new to slave flash building here and wanted to get the BF slavemaster board but they are no longer available. So was curious on this method. Is it the latest way to go? Where would I get the parts for this type of setup? The mosfet cable? Peanut? My goal is to use a slave flash with a P32 camera. Hopefully a IR camera. Any help would be great.

You can get the mosfet from Yeti or use a sister board from bigfoot. The peanuts are very hard to find right now.
