I modified a Fuji J10 to see infrared light by removing the glass. Worked great! Clear focus too!
***Discharge the flash capacitor*** ***Modify at your own risk***
Take the back off of the camera and gently fold over the lcd to access a silver bracket.

Take out a few screws to remove the bracket. Be careful when 'unsnapping' it from the lens assembly.

Peel the black tape off to expose the screws holding in the CCD to the back of the lens assembly.

Take the screws out and gently peel back the CCD. Remove the glass and rubber boot. Replace & reassemble. Be sure to snug down the screws to maintain perfect focus.

You are now finished! You can now enjoy a fast little 8 MP camera that 'sees' infrared light and takes SDHC cards. -Paul
