I have achieved 2 different industrial through beam photo electric sensors to test out for camera trapping. They both have PNP and NPN out. This makes them easy to trigger the camera.

I put one pair of them across a trail in the forest, connected the sensors to a 12V gel battery. The sensors operated as they should in (Dark mode = trigger when the beam is blocked from the sender)

It even worked with the camera and flashes connected.

Then before i left the system I made a trial run through the beam,,, nothing. After much fiddling around I got the system working with a dial position of Max receiver sensitivity and the dark/light dial somewhere in the middle. Like this the system fired 2 times, one for each leg in jogging speed :)

Is there a possibility that one of the flashes disturbed the receiver sensor? I might have blocked it while testing the beam with flashes earlier. The receiver sensor might have free sight to one of the flashes.

It is possible I would say, don't know if the flash itself but maybe the voltage from the cap to the tube somehow depending on your set up.
