Forum Upgrade

Post by -jeff »

Hey guys:

In the next week or so, I will be upgrading the forum to the latest phpbb version and repair a few issues with the database. I will detail the new features in a later update. So, the fourm may be down for a couple hours at a time. I will try to do this at night.

thanks

Had a PM but went to inbox and didn't see it. Marked all messages as "read" and the alert went away but still cannot see any new messages and have looked at both pages I have messages on, searched the pages by date, looked at every message, etc. Also never got an email about a new PM. Any idea where it might be? Looked everywhere but could never see a new message.

Thanks for the input. I am having problems with the email function of the board. I hope to have it figured out soon.

UPDATE 8/31/2021

The forum software, phpBB, is very configurable and allows the use of different styles. A style changes the look of the forum to customize it to the users tastes. The current style is not 100% compatible with the forum software upgrade and will be deleted in the next few days. I have uploaded a few new styles to the forum for everybody to try out.

To change styles click on your user name in the upper right corner of the home page. At the dropdown menu click on "User Control Panel". On this page click on "Board Preferences". The header for this page will be "Edit Global Settings". In the list you will see a choice called "My Board Style". The default style is called "Allan Style-SUBSILVER". Click on the dropdown arrow and chose a different style and then click on "Submit". The new style should appear in a couple seconds. If not, refresh the page.

I would like to end up with two or three styles that everybody thinks look good. When that is decided, I will change the header to customize it to camtrapper.com.

Thanks for your help.

UPDATE 9/5/2021

As you have probably noticed, the forum appearance has changed. The obsolete default style has been de-activated and removed. If you don't like the new default style, you can change it by selecting another style in your User Control Panel.

If not, refresh the page.

thanks
