Freighter at the Sault Saint Marie Locks.

Post by Bones »

Captured this pic last week when I was there. Something about freighters that really interest me. We went to Whitefish point museum also, and saw "The Bell" from the famous Edmund Fitzgerald, that sunk to the bottom of Lake Superior, back in 1975. They went down (500 feet) and cut off the bell off the ship, and replaced it with a new bell, with all the names of the 29 men that parished that day.

My wife and I stumbled upon that museum a few years ago while exploring that part of the country. We spent a few hours there. Very interesting place.

Unplanned stops are sometimes the most rewarding.
