Hi

Post by jeesib »

Hi,
Although I am a hobby-photographer for years, using a cameratrap is new for me.

As a Dutch guy, I live in Altai, Siberia. I organize trips in to the mountains here and one of the activities is to check wildcams that are available.

So inspired by some other photographers I started my own "project" to make a cameratrap and I will test it at home first, before I take it into the mountains.

What do we see on the wildcam, well, all kind of smaller animals, manul (pallas cat), mountain goat, wolverine, and snow leopard.

So, the goal is to make a decent picture of this lady

Regards,
Jaap

Welcome aboard. DSLR Camera traps are a lot of fun. You have a great subject being the snow leopard. Best of luck on your camera trap. Any questions be sure to reach out to members on here.

Very cool! Sounds like a fun project and there are lots of challenges when photographing snow leopards, in particular cold temperatures so you'll have to plan your battery setup accordingly. Hope you post pictures of your results!
