Read this post and not totally sure what use this Rasberry Pi is being used for? Still camera? Video? Timelapse ? Can it be hitched to a control board?
It will do all the above, as long as you have enough power to make it happen. The Pi camera is designed to be plugged into the Raspberry Pi controller. The latest camera uses a 12.3 megapixel Sony sensor. Much better image quality than the original camera. I use them for quick timelapse cameras where I have AC or reliable solar power. They are also easy to set up as a livestream camera for YouTube or other platforms. The lens mount supports C and CS lenses. I use a C to Nikon adapter and use Nikon lenses. The options are endless.
