New FS6 build

Post by stone »

I set a new personal best (worst) in time getting this one together. Started it at least a year ago (probably closer to two years). Layout is a bit different than typical builds. I got rid of the having to use a snorkel by setting the cam back in the case. This allows space on the front side of the camera to tuck the control board (used a Bigfoot board on this one) under the camera. I removed the on/off button from the Bigfoot board and moved it along with the LED to the top of the build where it is accessible without have to move the camera. I then removed the flash from the camera and wired above the camera body to bring the flash out from behind the control board and flat with the front face of the case. If that wasn't enough to test my mediocre soldering skills I replace the stock flash cap with a larger cap (old p41 cap) to try help out the flash range a bit since I won't be using a slave, and removed the battery holder from the control board and wired the board to the 18650's that are also the externals for the camera (hope this works????). So far it seems to be operating just fine.
