Do you guys try to practice some sort of scent control while putting your sets in place? I guess I've always tried to wear gloves, but haven't taken it any farther than that. I've thought about spraying equipment down with scent killer, but never have.
How about you guys?

I usually don't but the animals around my area are accustomed to human scent. Especially the bears
With sufficient thrust pigs fly just fine

Have never been concerned about the scent I may leave on a camera trap. To most critters they must have a lot of scents -- paint, liquid nails, Goop, plastic, us. Given the ability of many mammals to detect scents (it's often said that a dog's sense of smell is 50-1000 times better than a human's and a bear's is 7-10 times better than the best dog's) I don't think you can hide your scent anyway.
Just don't get the scent of something edible or an attractant like beaver castoreum on your camera unless you want to get a photo of the inside of a bear's mouth or a raccoon's.

I have never been concerned about any human scent on my sets. I have however on occasion peed on my mock Cougar scratch pile to hold the animal there for a bit longer. My scent whatever it may be to animals has never been a deterrent to any animal that I have ever camtrapped, including Wolf.

Same here. I have not been to concerned with human scent. I use mee pee lots to get the animals attention, or to stop them in certain spots. But I use it lots during the rut... huge benefit actually. I have some awesome scrape pics posted here because of it.. helps to drinks plenty of liquids. ..westcocanuck2 wrote:I have never been concerned about any human scent on my sets.
