That sure is some beautiful country you live in Bob. Those are some great elk shots too. Can't wait to see how the new setup works.

Re: Pics from the lick
Dave, It has taken me a bit to fine tune this set. You can't have your camera two feet off of the ground and get good pics of an animal that stands five feet tall at the shoulder. The larger bulls will have fully developed antlers in early July. They will start losing their velvet in August. Also in August, they will start going to the wallow and rolling in the mud. In late August, they will start bugling and warming up for the rut in September. In August, I will put another W290 at the wallow. This set will be fun, and it is just getting started. In a week or so, I am going to start learning how to post video. Elk are very vocal animals, and the 290's with sound will be fun.
I have a 290 getting some nice bear videos now. I hope to get video of Buddy and the bears this summer.
This is a picture of the bull we call Wilbur. This was taken through my spotting scope from 3/4 of a mile away. It was also taken the day he dropped his antlers that year. He was a 7X7 this year and dropped his antlers on March 3rd. He has grown about six inches on his G-4 since this set began on May 16th
