Elk Video W290

I signed up at Vimeo. I can only upload one HD video per week unless I sign up for plus. I might check into that. Let me know how this turned out. The sound on this clip was good when I watched on my TV, but on my computer, the sound cuts out at the end. I will post more later. Tony I can still send these to you if you like. I have abunch of clips.

This is fantastic. Thanks for all of your effort to get this posted on vimeo. I purchased an account with vimeo because I couldn't find another service that even came close to the quality.

I was impressed with the white balance of your video. It sure beats the stealthcam I have and it comes darn close to the Sony HC40 (still my favorite).

If you could only hear the sound on the elk videos, you would think a pig or hog was in front of the camera. The bull was in front of the camera for 20 minutes that morning. My neighbor saw him when he went out to feed his cows. Brent is across the canyon feeding his cows during the video. You can barely hear one of the cows off in the distance. When the bull paused and looked back, he was watching Brent feeding the cows. This was the 5th video clip that morning, and one of three where the bull burped. The last four clips were the better clips for sound because crows had arrived and the video is full of sound, but you can still hear the bull over the crows. The last video where he comes over to check out the cameras is a good one also, and he was able to reach the 230 seven feet off of the ground. The bull arrived at 6:10 that morning. The sun was low in the sky still and this created shadows. I think the videos are even better when the sun is up in the sky. The 290 was four faat off of the ground, and the 230 seven feet. I moved the 290 right up under the 230 because as you can see in this video, it is too low for elk. I can hardly wait until August to get video at the wallow, and September to get video during the rut. I have never attempted this, but I have always wanted a camera with sound for that time of the year. I plan to make an elk Dvd at the end of the rut. When that is finished, I can make a copy for anyone that likes elk. I will have cameras at three licks soon. Tony, I will send these to you, but you don't have to post them. I have it figured out now. Start the upload before I go to bed, and it is done when I get up in the morning. My neighbor has a new 46 inch Samsung HDTV. I connected a 290 to that cable with the Sony HD multi cable. The videos were really awesome then. If you have a 290 and HDTV, you should order that cable from Sony. It is $39.95 but worth it.
