Deer and Elk W230

Post by Bob »

On this set, I have a W230 seven feet off of the ground, and a W290 right under it. The 290 was at four feet, but I had to raise it because the elk's antlers were still getting cut off. I posted a video from the 290 a couple of days ago. Today I checked the 230. I don't have enough memory to check both on the same day, and by staggering them a few days, I can carry more garbanzos to the set. the 230 cauget this sequence on rapid pics mode. The small buckes were fighting over the beans. They do this often. They run together, and I think they were twin fawns.

My 290 got 18 22 second video clips of this bull, and the 230 got about 150 pics. the 230 got some really nice shots

The 290 had a video clip of this. When the bull decided to leave, he came after my camera. Keep in mind the 230 is seven feet off of the ground. He just wanted to show me he could reach it. He tounched it with his nose, and I have seen from the videos that his tongue is 8 or 9 inches long.

Really nice! Will they bugle once in awhile this time of year. I remember camping in the Big Horns probably 15 yrs ago and could have swore I heard a bugle early in the summer. He's got to be sounding off in that one pic.

Greystoke, If I did not have a video unit set up with my 230, I would have thought this bull is bugling, but he is not. he is burping or belching. My neighbor said his cows do the same thing when they are licking salt. They start bugling in late August and continue into October. Once it starts, we can hear it from our house. In August, they seem to be clearing their throat and warming up. I think I heard a bugle in late July one year.
