Wolf Pack, Gray Fox, Showshoe Hares, Chickadee and Deer

Post by Willy »

Been patient on this set and it finally paid off. From a P41, was in need of its speed in case they were cruising through. One picture only, but my Willypee, overhanging branch stopped them for long enough to get a picture. You can see 2 more in the back, and the front two were turning to run back the other way once the flash went off. The Snowshoe seemed to like the Willypee also, got several pictures of him in this same pose sniffing the branch.

Had a P32 a little further down the trail from the above set, and caught some more Snowshoes.

Here's one from the W200 with a nice-looking sky background.

Here's some more from the S600 shed set, lots of the Cottontail and some Red Squirrels.

Just an S600 daytime, doe on a trail.

And finally, the S600 table scrap set. Caught the Gray Fox again.

Excellent variety. What do you think alerted them to the camera? It seems like they are spinning around before the photo snapped.

Don't know if they heard the P41 turn on, or they reacted that quickly to the flash....probably the former. Sure wish they would have been in focus and/or not in motion.

I was curious because I had an IR P41 that the animals were always looking at. 212 said the auto focus motor can be heard. I have the covers disabled on all of mine.

Yeah, my shutter doors all disabled too. I'm sure you've heard the P32s and P41s give that faint electronic whine when they power on. That's what I think they heard.
