Elk sparring

This is with an S600 Yeti setup. The big guys went off to the left out of view in the first spar, then they stayed out to the top left in the next one where the camera didn't pick up the motion. I have this camera about 7 feet up the tree and angled down. I'm kicking myself for angling it down so much now. It wasn't rut fighting, just playing around, but its still cool.
The squaring off...
Just out of site to the left...
Now to bully the little guy...
The little one puts his head down...
Then he goes to play with breadcrumbs (4C on the collar)...
Then the big guys match up again...
Then 5 minutes later they come back into the photo...

I'm hoping they keep sparring here in front of my cam and knock some bones loose for me to grab.

Tony, keep track of what is happening on this set. The larger bulls will start dropping soon. It has already started here. I can't really tell what size your bulls are. There was a set found here yesterday that score well over 400. The antlers weighed 16 pounds per side. All of the nice antlers will hit the ground in the next 2 or 3 weeks. If you are going to have competition for these antlers, you need to go in as soon as you see a bull without antlers.
Bulls spar a lot this time of the year. I have watched this many times hoping I would see the antlers pop off. I have watched antlers fall off, but not when they were sparring. When the large bulls lose their antlers, sometimes the smaller bulls get their revenge and start picking on them. If one of your large bulls disappears, and you don't see him with the herd, there is the possibility that he lost his antlers, and he left because the others were picking on him. Good luck. Finding elk sheds is fun.
