I love the action shots that you can get from these stills. Here, a jake came running in behind a hen and chased her away from the corn. My 290's may never be set on still images because these videos are way too much fun. There is too much that happens you just don't see in still images.
I tweaked the brightness and contrast on this picture of the gobbler. You can crop and edit the stills just like on the still images

I am not sure what happened with the last three pictures. The stills that I captured don't look like this, and they don't look like this on Photobucket. I will try to fix this tonight.

I tried editing some W200 video from a couple of years ago so I could show the difference, but the PMB browser will not let me advance that video frame by frame. It also will not permit me to capture stills from the video. There must be software built into the 290 for this. The more I learn about this camera, the more I love it.
I uploaded the last three pictures to PB again, and this time the are right

Great shots Bob. I bet those videos would look pretty awesome on 60" hdtv! Are you using a yeti with your 290 builds?

Javin, They do look great on HDTV. I am using the Yeti with a W35 chip. I have always used the W35 chip because Mark had no other chip when I started using 55's, 90's and 200's. When he started offering a 55 and 80 chip I just kept using what has always worked for me. The 220 and 230 are the only cameras that have not worked with this chip. When the 290 is set for still images it takes the first pic in under 2 seconds. I think it would work with a faster chip. The wide angle images and videos fit a HDTV screen perfectly. On my monitor or a regular TV, there is a blank strip above and below the image or Video.
Back in November '08, I ad a picture of a golden eagle and three magpies on a deer carcass. Eight seconds later, I had a picture of a cougar standing over the carcass looking up at the departing birds. If I would have had a 290 set on video back then, I would have had approximately 240 frames taken between those two stills. That would have been an awesome video, and the stills would have been nice also.

Both of my 290's are in the field now. I set 230's with them to cover the night. Hopefully I will have picutres and videos of something besides turkeys and horses soon

Bob, Just be careful with that arm. Getting you well is the most important thing. A couple of months ago, I did not care for video, but that has changed now. Sony has released a newer version of the PMB software that comes with the 2010 cameras. I am curious about what changes they made. The 220/230 software does not work with the 290. The 290 software will probably not work with the new cameras. Later this summer, I hope to get an H55. I know I would never buy another camera without the wideangle lens and HD video. The new software might be just because of the new panorama shots, but I am curious to see the video and the editing tools on the browser for the video
