The fast hack mod is about a 1/2 second quicker and probably a wee bit quieter. Snapshot Sniper does sell a board(Bigfoot board) that will work with the fast hack. The SSII board does not support the fast hack but is still a good board with the s600 if you want a smaller build. RC Davis also has an excellent and compact board (Gamewatcher) that will work with the fast hack. I have and use all of these boards

The whole idea behind the fast hack was three fold. One was to make the camera a split second quicker by leaving the lens extended full time, rather than waiting for it to extend. Two, by leaving the lens out fully extended eliminated the noise of the lens extending each time the camera was activated. Which may or may not cause an animal to spook or look towards the camera. Three, it saved wear and tear on the cameras inner drive mechanisms of repeatedly extending the lens.

JonnyDeerHunter used to make and sell an add-on fast hack board that attaches to the SSII board. I have both SSII with the JDH fast hack board and the Big Foot fast hack boards in most of my S600 builds. Personally I find no negligible advantage to them or at least non that makes me smile and say.......yah, now that's what I'm talking about. Just my two bits worth but I'm sure others opinions will differ.

I use the standard hack. Can’t really comment on which is better. But have many S600’s that are not fast hacked and have many customers that have them standard as well. Just thought I would mention as there are lots out there both ways ..
