I moved this camera last week-end. I put the mackeral in a ziplock bag and put it in my pack. I also put the camera in my pack. I carried the mineral block about a half a mile. When I opened my pack to unload it, I found the ziplock bag was not closed, and the mackeral juice leaked in my pack. I think that is why this cat is really checking out my camera very closely. Some of the pictures, all I could see was hair. I think the cat was licking my camera. I got 8 pictures that were closer than this picture.
The mackeral is attracting all sorts of cats
I checked another camera this morning. In 6 and 1/2 years, I have never had a trailcam picture of a rabbit, that is until I made this set. I now have aver 500 rabbit pictures, and with as many as five rabbits in the picture. When I first saw this picture, I thought I had a pic of the elusive jackelope, but after zooming in, I could see this little guy probably had a close encounter with a bobcat or something. I found a fresh pile of rabbit fur on the way to this set this morning.
Two rabbits in this picture
These three are the same picture and show how you can zoom in on these pics
This deer is all cut up, and she appears to have wounds to her throat. I think she may have had an encounter with a cougar
