Day late and more than a dollar short

Post by Greystoke »

I lost one of the staff today. I was getting kinda nervous about this set. It's been raining all week and temps are rising, just like the water. This was the last picture it took. In the otter pic you can see the cam in the back round. When I got there today I could only see a inch of the camera. Must have been coming in thru the external switch. Went down sometime this morning. The water had only reached the board which was in the middle of the case, the cam on top is still good.

You may be in luck with the board too. I've had a Yeti wet more than once and keep on working. I don't know what kind of board you have, but I hope you didn't lose it.

It was SSS. There was alot of corrosion started. I brushed everything clean and am drying it now. I would think the lcd would be a issue tho. We'll see. It always costs money to have fun.

Well,,, I couldn't sleep tonight so I went down to play. After tearing into a w series lense and putting it back together I thought what the heck so I plugged a battery back into the SSS board. I just about fell over when it power up and got ready to go. This was out of the case so I guess tomorrow I will put a new battery holder on and put it back into the case and see what happens. If it works I'm gonna wish I would have taken pictures of the board before I cleaned it as a testimonial to quality board. We'll see. :pleeze
