Those 600 take some great pictures. Hard to find a better camera for this purpose.

What else can I say? You have set the bar pretty high for me. Next weekend I'll be setting up on a log.

I'm new here & this is my first post, but if you don't mind helping me out a little what is it that helps you determine a good drumming log over any other log? Thanks. Awesome pictures by the way. Dave

Thanks guys
Methow- I found this one last year, they will use the same logs year after year. I happened on this one while out turkey hunting. You hear a grouse drumming - walk in that direction- stop and listen again for it. Sooner or later you will see the area he flushes from. Just go and look for a moss covered log or stone wall or stump, and look for the grouse poop - if it's his drumming spot - there will be a bunch there.. I don't think one log is better than any other one - some just depend on the position where you can get the camera for a good shot.
Hope this helps a little and good luck finding one.

Outstanding photos. Hear them drumming around here but have never tracked one down.

Chenango Dave thanks for the input, I know of a lot of spots that hold grouse so I'll be looking for a set up on a drumming log. I've been into predator sets lately, I've been getting a lot of bait from a trapper I know
