W290 pictures

Post by Bob »

My W290 has been down at the bear tree for two days now. Things have been really slow down there, and about all I am getting so far is bird and crow pictures. Before I took the camera down there, something was eating my donuts. At least now I know who was stealing my donuts. I am really impressed with the W290. I ran W200's for almost two years, and I have had W220's and W230's for nine months now. This is the best camera that I have ever owned by far. I bought two Camtrakkers in June 2003. These units had P32's with built in slave flashes. This will be the seventh year that I have had a camera at the bear tree. I have hundreds of thousands of pictures from that tree. After seeing my first 290 pictures from the tree, I was very impressed with the wide angle lens. Here is a P32 picture from summer 2004.

I looked at hundreds of old pictures tonight comparing them to the 290 pictures. I have never had a single picture where the sixth tree just downhill appeared in the picture. The aim on the picture above is almost exactly the same as this 290 picture.

Here I cropped the crow out of the picture above

This bear fight occurred in 2007. This is what happens when you crop a P 32 picture. The bears are in about the exact same location where the crow was in the above picture

No bear pictures yet, but I know they are around. A carcass I had here all winter disappeared on February 25. On March 1, I found fresh bear scat in our garden and it was full of deer hair. Here are two pictures on my donut thief. When I let Buddy out at night, he is going down and snitching my donuts. These pics are cropped. ISO was 200 and Buddy is about 10 feet from the camera. Deer hunter build slave flashes. I turn my flash way down low to get quality close-ups. The ISO is set on 80 tonight.
