These are not trailcam pics, but I took these tonight when I went to check my W290. The camera is at the bear tree about 200 yards down the creek from our house. I left the house at 7:30 to go check the cam, and it is dark by 8:00 PM. So, I had to hurry because I did not take a flash light. When I got to the camera, I took out the memory and put it into a W80 that I take along when I check cams. The LCD on my 290 is disconnected. I sat down by the tree to look and see how many pictures the 290 took. My dog Buddy went down a trail towards the creek. As I was looking at the pictures, I saw movement out of the corner of my eye. I figured it was Buddy coming back. It was almost dark, and when I looked up, a large cougar was 15 feet away slowly moving right at me. I was sitting, and I was wearing a khaki colored jacket that is about the same color as a deer. When I saw the cat, it startled the hell out of me. I hollered as loud ad I could, " BUDDY GET 'EM. When I hollered, the cat did not blink, and Buddy arrived and hit the cat from the rear. The cat went up a tree 20 feet from my camera tree. I think, because I was sitting and my coat was the color of a deer, the cat might have mistaken me for a deer. Well, whatever it was, it was exciting. This was the 16th cougar Buddy has treed while checking cams or while we were shed hunting. Usually this happens at a carcass cam. This is a first for the donut cam. This was a pretty large cat, the tail was hanging down 3 feet. I had to put the W80 on ISO 3200 to get these pictures. They are not very good pictures, but you can see the cat. It was about 25 feet up in a Doug Fir tree.
